Lilo And Stitch

Lilo and Stitch Nails

"Ohana means family.  Family means on one gets left behind or forgotten."  I'm on my way to Disneyland for a family vacation, so I decided to paint some Lilo and Stitch nails.

The design is inspired by +TotallyCoolNails, but I changed mine up a little bit.  I'm practicing my fine lining skills, so I have a little more detailed Stitch, and I used some +Bundle Monster stamping for the hibiscus and leaves.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Rapid Red
  • Bundle Monster Stamping Lacquer - Angelic White
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Breezy Blue
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Navy Fleet
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Pink Blink
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
  • Wet n Wild - Black Crème
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate - BM-507 (hibiscus)
  • Rubber stamper
  • Nail art brush
  • Red studs

Although Stitch is pretty simple, the fine lining makes this an advanced design.  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - thumb and middle in white, the rest in red.

  2. Use white stamping polish to stamp the hibiscus design (BM-507) on all the red nails.

  3. Paint Stitch on the middle finger using a nail art brush.
    • Use Pacific Blue for the shape of his head and ears.
    • Paint a nose with Navy Fleet, and the two light eye areas with Breezy Blue.
    • Use Navy Fleet to outline his head and ears, and add crease lines above his nose and eyebrows.  Eyes and eyebrows are in black.
    • Add white highlight dots to his eyes.
    • Paint the inside if his ears with Pink Blink.
