Simple Summer

Simple Summer Nail Art

Just something really simple today.  I used a bunch of nail vinyls from +Bundle Monster to created this clean, graphic, summery look.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Cherry Fast
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Blue-Away
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Cruisin'
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - I-rush Luck
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Black to Black
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
  • Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant - Goldilocks
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Nail vinyls - lightening bolt, French tip, and straight line
  • Nail art brush
  • White round stud
  • Gold seashell stud

This was a really fast mani since I used almost all Insta-Dri polishes, and nail vinyls are an easy way to create geometric designs.  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - thumb in black, middle in pink, ring in white, and pinky, in yellow.  For the index finger, use a lightening blot nail vinyl, and paint the top portion light blue, and the bottom purple.  Remove the vinyl and you'll have a nice negative space.

  2. Use a French tip vinyl to paint the tip of the middle finger with green polish.  This will be the rind of the watermelon.
    Watermelon Tip
  3. Use thick straight line vinyls to paint black stripes on the ring finger.
    Stripe Nail
  4. Use a nail art brush to add the details to the watermelon nail.  Paint a white line to separate the green from the pink.  Then paint three black seeds.

  5. Add a white round stud to the base of the thumb, and a gold seashell stud to the base of the pinky.
