Loyal, Brave, True

Chinese Nail Art

Who else has watched Mulan? I've been waiting for this since March, so I paid that extra fee for premier access.

In honor of the movie and my love of Disney, I did some Mulan inspired nails. I was torn between gold foil with black stamping, or black foil with gold stamping. I went with the black stamping, and love how it turned out...but it was incredibly difficult to photograph without bright lighting.

Polish Used:

  • Artistic Colour Gloss - Yield For No One
  • Black stamping polish
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate - Around the World BM-XL151
  • Stamper
  • Gold flakes
  • UV/LED lamp

I used the deep red creme, Yield For No One, from the Artistic Nail Design Detour Allure Fall 2020 collection again because the name matches the Mulan theme. To create this look:

  1. Apply a red base color.

  2. Add gold flakes to each nail.

  3. Add black stamping to some or all of the nails. Here, I added a floral pattern over the ring finger and pinky, a Chinese symbol on the middle finger, and a dragon on the thumb.

The thumb is my favorite with the dragon.
