Pantone Petals

Pantone Petals Nails

Here is my take on Pantone's colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity.  Add some flower charms, pearls, and rhinestones for a ethereal mani.

GHLQ10I received these flower charms from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review.  You get 12 charms for $2.59, which is pretty awesome.  There are three different styles of charms, and they are a mix of pink, white, and blue flowers.  The flowers are accented with pearls and rhinestones, and the charms range from 10mm to 15mm in size.  I like that the charms have a range of hues for the pinks and blues so they match with light or darker polish.

One of these days I really need to buy some of that latex protector.  I love gradient nails, but they are messy to clean up.  To create this look:
  1. Apply an apricot base color. I didn't have a good "rose quartz" polish, so I used apricot. Since the blue gradient will be towards the base of the nail, I didn't paint all the way to the cuticle. Then when you clean up, there won't be any of the base color showing through.

  2. Use a wet makeup sponge to create a gradient nail with apricot and light blue.
  3. Glue the flower charms on the middle and ring finger.
  4. Apply various pearls, rhinestones, and embellishments to your heart's content.
