A Jewel In Disguise

Copper Drip Marble

A Jewel In Disguise is a copper shimmer from the Wrapped in Mystery Fall 2019 Collection by Artistic Nail Design.

Copper Nail Polish

Adding a metallic to a drip marble bumps up the glam factor. And using a spotting polish bumps up the wow factor.

Polish Used:
  • Artistic Colour Revolution - A Jewel In Disguise
  • Artistic Colour Revolution - Ingénue In Blue
  • Dance Legend Spot It - White
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Silicone mat
  • Scissors
  • Nail art brush

This drip marble uses negative space to add a neutral contrast to the design. To create this look:
  1. Apply a clear base coat.
  2. Create drip marble decals on a silicone mat.
    • Start with two drops of copper, then a drop of blue, a drop of white spotting polish, followed by another drop of copper.
    • Tilt and rotate the mat to start marbling the colors.
    • Since these won't be full coverage decals, make sure some of the edges have nice "drip" shapes.
    • Let the decals dry on the mat until they can easily be peeled off.

  3. Apply a layer of clear top coat, and place the decal across the tip of the nail.
  4. Trim the excess, and melt the edges with a nail art brush dipped in acetone.
  5. Seal on with a couple more layers of top coat.

The thumb turned out great.
