Canary Cassette

Do you remember cassette tapes? The nightmare of when that tape would come out and you would have to wind it back in? Haha. The mani is bringing some retro vibes, bringing me back to my first love of music. 

The Alive & Amplified Summer 2021 collection by Artistic Nail Design embraces the sound of color and is for music lovers and leisure-seekers alike. This mani uses Light Up the Stage, a yellow crème. It has great coverage for a light polish color and is a ray of pure sunshine.

Polish Used:

• Artistic Colour Revolution - Ultra-Violet Rays
• Wet N Wild - Ebony Hates Chris
• Base and top coats

Other Supplies:

• Bundle Monster stamping plate - Time Machine BM-XL132 (cassette tapes)
• Clear stamper
• Dark grey glitter
• Yellow iridescent rhinestones
• Krazy Glue

A lot of colors pair nicely with yellow. As I'm writing this blog post, I realized I kinda did Lakers colors, but you could swap the purple for hot pink, green, blue, whatever works for you. To create this look:

1. Apply the base colors - index and thumb in purple, middle and ring in yellow, and pinky in black.
   
2. Stamp cassette tapes on the middle and ring fingers with purple polish.
   
3. Glue yellow iridescent rhinestones to the base of the index and thumb. 
4. Apply a layer of top coat to the pinky, and immediately pour dark grey glitter over the whole nail. Once dry, dust off any excess glitter.
