New Age Swank

Hipter Nail Art

I fell in love with +Bundle Monster's Bored of Basic mani, and I needed it on my nails ASAP!  Their mani was a little more punk rock and edgy, but I apparently don't own any black triangle studs (the horror).  I modified my look with some clear rhinestones and a gold nail charm.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Maybelling Color Show Brocades - Black N Mirrors
  • Sephora by OPI - 212 Sephora
  • Bundle Monster Stamping Lacquer - Black Noir
  • Sally Hansen Triple Shine - Flame On
  • Maybelline Color Show - Pink Shock
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Cruisin'
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate - Time Machine BM-XL133 (girl and hashtags)
  • Rubber stamper
  • Black nail tape
  • Triangle studs
  • Nail vinyls or masking tape
  • Gold lip charm
  • Krazy Glue

I really liked the pink and black color scheme of the original design, so I kept it.  You can use any color though.  Black a blue would look awesome too (rhymes).  To create this look:
  1. Apply base colors - Thumb in Black N Mirrors, middle in 212 Sephora, and ring nothing (except base coat).  For the index and ring, use nail vinyls or masking tape to block off a section of nail tape in the center of the nail, and paint the top and bottom areas with Flame On.

  2. Stamp the hashtags on the index and pinky fingers.
    • Use black stamping polish to stamp the hashtags (BM-XL133) in the negative space on the index and pinky - #wtf on the index, and #lol on the pinky.
    • Apply black nail tape to the borders of the negative space.
    • Add clear triangle studs on the outsides of the black tape.  The number of studs depends on how wide your nails are, and how much embellishment you prefer.

  3. Use the reverse stamping method for the girl on the ring finger.  Use Pink Shock to color in her hair, and Cruisin' for the "IDK" on her beanie.

  4. Glue a gold lip charm with pearl bubble on the middle finger.

I decided to try cuticle tattoos like the original design.  These tattoos (also Bundle Monster products), aren't really for your nails, but I cut pieces of designs from two bracelet tattoo to create what you see here.  Bundle Monster sells tattoos specifically for cuticles, but I just didn't have any on hand.
