Burgundy Beauty

Burgundy Nail Art

Just some simple stamping for today.  Stamping is always perfect for when you just want something quick but fancy.

I received this forest pattern stamping plate from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review.  It is an extra large stamping plate with 23 different floral and leaf designs on it.  I like that it can also double as a holiday themed plate for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Christmas.  There is even a bare tree that could be used for Halloween.  The images stamp well and I definitely like the variety and multi-use I can get out of the plate.

Nail Polish
Polish Used:
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Rapid Red
  • Maybelline Color Show - Bold & Burgundy
  • Bundle Monster Stamping Lacquer - Liquid Gold
  • Old Navy - bronze glitter (no name)
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:

Sidenote about the Maybelline polish...I found it at the Dollar Store!  I've never seen the "fancier" drugstore brand polishes at the Dollar Store (at least not the one near my house), so I was pleasantly surprised to find Maybelline and some Sally Hansen polishes there. Needless to say I bought a few bottles...at $1 each, how could I say no?  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - thumb and index in Bold & Burgundy, middle and ring in Rapid Red, and pinky in a bronze glitter polish.

  2. Use a wet makeup sponge to create a gradient using Rapid Red and Bold & Burgundy on the middle and ring fingers.  The burgundy polish is actually a little sheer, so you could get away with a mock gradient (just painting the nail without the use of a sponge).

  3. Use gold stamping polish to stamp floral designs on the index and ring finger.
