Mermaid nails never get old, and are always a staple mani for the summer. They look great in any color, and are fun loaded with embellishments, or just as plain scales.
I got these scale vinyls from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review. The whole sheet is scales, so you can cut a piece to fit your nail. This is perfect because most vinyls are pretty large and get wasted on short nails. You could also cut a small piece to use on the tips or just a section of the nail. The adhesive is not overly sticky, so dabbing polish on with a sponge is better than applying it with the brush.

Polish Used:
- Born Pretty Store - Chrome Polish
- Sinful Colors - Secret Admirer
- Base and top coats
- Scale vinyls
- Pearls
- Black, silver, and gunmetal studs
- Silver seashell studs

Vinyls are a great alternative if stamping is not your thing. To create this look:
- Apply a chrome base color.
- Working one nail at a time, apply the scale vinyl over the chrome base color. Use a makeup sponge to dab on Secret Admirer, then remove the vinyl.
- Add various pearls, studs, and a seashell stud to the base of each nail.
