Tahitian Pearl

Tahitian Pearl Nails

Inspired by Tahitian pearls and black lava, this salt mani is something different.

Polish Used:
  • Jamberry - Abalone
  • Base and top coats
  • Matte top coat
Other Supplies:
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Salt
  • Nail art brush

This is the first time I've used craft paint with salt. It works to an extent, but I think the salt definition shows up a little better with fine art acrylic paint, as in Moon Dust. To create this look:
  1. Apply the base color using Abalone.
  2. Apply a layer of matte top coat.
  3. Water down black acrylic paint, and paint on the tips of each nail. Sprinkle salt on the nails while the paint is still wet, and dab on extra paint where needed.

  4. Once paint is COMPLETELY dry, run nails under water to dissolve the salt. Do not touch the nails, or you'll rub off the paint. If you use craft paint, this is especially true.
