Mermaid Mirage

Mermaids are Made to be Mystical. I was gifted the new collection by Artistic Nail Design, and I knew the first design had to be mermaid themed.

This collection is full of magically inspired spring colors. For this mani, I'm using Beautiful Mirage, a dusty blue crème. I really like this color because it is soft, but dark...kind of like a mermaid. Pretty but dangerous.

• Base coat
• Gel no-wipe top coat

Other Supplies:

• Bundle Monster stamping plate - BM-502 (mermaid scales)
• Clear stamper
• Gold seashell charm
• Various sized pearls, iridescent rhinestones, and gold studs
• UV/LED lamp
• Makeup sponge

Mermaid nails are always a fun design. I just love all the pearls and jewels. To create this look:

1. Apply the base coat with Beautiful Mirage.
   
2. Add iridescent flakes to the entire pinky, and the tip of the ring finger. If you have loose flakes, awesome! If you don't, I used a polish with flakes (Heart of Ocean). If you've used those types of polishes before, you know it takes a million coats to get enough of the flakes/glitter. A cool trick is to apply the polish on a makeup sponge, and then you can dab on the flakes.
3. Add a gold seashell charm to the base of the index finger, and various pearls, iridescent rhinestones, and gold studs on the middle finger. I secured with no-wipe gel top coat, but you could use nail glue.
   
4. Stamp gold mermaid scales on the ring finger.
   
5. Add a large pearl to the base of the thumb.
