Happy St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day Nail Art

Hope you are all wearing green today!  I'm sporting these green nails, but that's about as festive as my day is going to get.  No green beer in my future, but I did eat corned beef and cabbage the other night.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Green With Envy
  • Sally Hansen Triple Shine - Kelp Out
  • Sinful Colors - Call You Later
  • Sinful Colors - Shamrockin'
  • Ulta - Envy
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
  • Sinful Colors - All About You
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Gold studs
  • Nail art brush
  • Tape

May the luck of the Irish be with you today.  At least with green nails you can avoid being pinched :)  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - thumb in Kelp Out, index and ring in Envy, middle in White On, and pinky in Green With Envy.

  2. Use tape to divide the thumb nail in half, and paint one side with Envy.  On the other side, apply a few coats of Shamrockin'.  Add three gold studs down the middle.  I chose large flat studs to look like gold coins.

  3. Use a nail art brush and Kelp Out to paint a plaid design on the pinky.  Paint three vertical lines on the side of the nail, and three horizontal lines near the tip.

  4. Paint a four leaf clover on the ring finer.  Use a nail art brush and Kelp Out to paint the leaves and stem.  The leaves are essentially four hearts.  Then use Green With Envy to paint smaller hearts within the leaves.  You can leave the clover as is, or add a gold stud in the middle as I did later.

  5. Apply diagonal strips of tape to the middle finger.  I cut thick strips of masking tape, then left a small sliver of exposed space.  Alternate the painted lines with Green With Envy and Call You Later.

  6. Paint a gold glitter gradient on the tip of the index finger.
