Although this mani may look tricky, it is actually quite simple. Nail tape is used to create the negative spacing, the plaid and tweed nails are stamped, and studs are added for a more edgy appeal.
- Wet n Wild - Red Red
- Wet n Wild - Black Crème
- Bundle Monster Stamping Lacquer - Liquid Gold
- Base and top coats
- Bundle Monster stamping plate - BM-706 (tweed)
- Born Pretty Store stamping plate - Y006 (plaid)
- Rubber stamper
- Nail striping tape
- Various gold studs (round, triangle, and rectangle)
The plaid and studs give this design a sort of punk rock look, but the clean geometric negative spacing adds some class for a more grown-up posh feel. To create this look:
- Apply a clear base coat.
- Use nail striping tape to block of different shapes and paint in with Red Red. The middle finger will be the only solid nail.
- Add various studs to the thumb, index, and ring finger. I used a mix of triangle, round, and rectangle to get different looks on each nail.
- Stamp the plaid design (Y006) with black polish on the middle finger, and double stamp the tweed design (BM-706) on the pinky in black and gold. For the pinky, you can either stamp over the negative space, or re-apply nail tape before stamping as I did so the negative space stays clear.
