Another abstract look. For this design, I combined the salt technique with some water spotting, then of course added some studs. The salt reminded me of craters on the moon, and then the polish I used for the spotting is called "Shoot the Moon," so these became moon themed nails.

This look incorporates a few looks in one. You can stop at any point, or keep layering on the elements. This is also a good way to update a mani. You can start with the salt layer, then add the water spotting and studs when you want to change it up. You can also use multiple paint colors with the salt, like I did in my Turquoise Talons mani.To create this look:
- Apply a white base color. Coat with a layer of matte top coat. This will help keep the acrylic paint from running off as much.
- Complete this step one nail at a time. Water down some black acrylic paint and paint it on the nail, sprinkle with salt, then dab on a little more paint and let dry.
- Repeat this process on each nail.
- Once dry, run nails under water to dissolve the salt. You can dab your nails to speed up the process, but do NOT rub.
- Apply a layer of clear coat, and you have a nice salt manicure.
- To add the water spotting, float a drop of Shoot the Moon in a cup of water. Spray it with hand sanitizer, then dip your nail over the design. I tried to pick portions of the water spotting that have a lot of spots/holes. Use a orange stick to gather up and floating polish before starting the next nail.
- Repeat the process on all nails. You can leave your nails as is, or add embellishments.
- Add a silver rectangle stud to the base of each nail.
