Abalone

Abalone Nail Art

Like the abalone shells, this polish is iridescent, shimmery, and a mermaid's dream.

Polish Used:
  • Jamberry - Abalone
  • Wet n Wild - Ebony Hates Chris
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Uber mat / silicone mat
  • Nail scissors

This polish is fun because using different colors underneath it (like black, blue, or purple), can change the intensity of the iridescence. To create this look:
  1. Using a silicone mat, create drip marble decals for each nail.
    • Alternate a drop of Abalone and black polish for a total of six drops.

    • Tilt and rotate the silicone mat to swirl the polish. You don't want it to be too marbled since it is supposed to look like an abalone shell. Let these dry completely, and then they can be peeled off the mat.

  2. Apply a layer of top coat or polish to adhere the decal to each nail, trimming the excess with scissors, then cleaning up the edges with acetone and a nail art brush.
The Abalone polish has blues, greens, and purples, and is super sparkly. You can see the shimmer the most in the sun.
