Flying Fish

Flying Fish Nails

"A bird may love a fish, signore, but where will they live?...Then I shall have to make you wings." - Ever After

I received this Sweet Dreams stamping plate from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review. The extra large plate has an ocean dreamscape vibe with the moon and stars, mermaids, whales, and flying fish to name a few. The plate can be used for a summer mermaid mani, or something out of this world.

Polish Used:
  • Artistic Colour Revolution - Aqua Attitude
  • Dance Legend - Spot It White
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Born Pretty stamping plate - Sweet Dream - A001 (#46153)
  • Stamper

I tried Dance Legend's spotting polish for the first time on this mani. (Thank you to my BFF Jaclyn for buying it for me!) The spotting polish has to be applied over a wet base color, but the color I used wasn't super "liquidy" and dries pretty fast, so it didn't "spot" as much. But for this mani, it kind of looks like waterfalls. To create this look:
  1. Apply the base color using Aqua Attitude.

  2. Working one nail art a time, apply another layer of base color, and immediately swipe some of the spotting polish on in a thin layer (almost like you would for dry brushing). Wipe the spotting polish brush on paper in between nails to prevent transferring any color back in the bottle.

  3. Stamp flying fish on each nail - first in gold, then in black - using a clear stamper to line up the images.
