What's Your Sign?

Sagittarius Nail Art

I'm a Sagittarius. I've seen some really cool constellation nails for a variation of the galaxy nail, so the design has been on my never ending to-do list of nails.  I wanted to do the Sagittarius constellation since that's my astrological sign, but have you seen that constellation!?!  Pretty much looks like a crazy spider since it is supposed to be the centaur shooting a bow and arrow.  Luckily, I found these awesome decals and they saved the day.

In case you want to try this design with your own sign, you can buy the decals from Born Pretty Store.  Use coupon code GHLQ10 for 10% off.  The decal pack has all the different astrological signs, with constellations, symbols, words, and numbers.  I just chose a "10" for my nail design since that's my birthday.  I'm sure there are proper astrological numbers that go along with the signs, but I didn't look it up.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Princessa - blue (no name)
  • Sinful Colors - Hottie
  • City Colors - blue (no name)
  • Miss Kiss - Chrome Crazy
  • Jesse's Girl - glitter teal (no name)
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:

As I was making my polish list, I realized I used a lot of random brand polishes that don't have polish names.  Hopefully the picture will help if you do find these brands.  Jesse's Girl is usually found at most drug stores.  You can also always use any dark glittery blue polish you already have.  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - thumb and middle in City Color's blue, index in Princessa's blue, ring in Chrome Crazy, and pinky in Jesse's Girl blue.

  2. To make the polishes a little more glittery like a galaxy, add a coat or two of Hottie.  I added a very light coat to the middle and pinky, then added a lot to the index since that polish wasn't already glittery.

  3. Apply the water transfer decals to the index, middle, and pinky.

  4. Add iridescent rhinestones to the decaled nails for some additional "stars."  On the ring finger, add a bunch of different studs and rhinestones.  Iridescent clear and blue rhinestones match the color scheme, and the rose gold stud is a nice contrast.

  5. Add a large iridescent rhinestone to the base of the thumb.
