As seen in my last post, water marbling can be tricky. A quick and easy alternative is this mock marble, where the polish is "marbled" directly on the nail with wet polish.
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Black to Black
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Coin Flip
- Base and top coats
- Pin/needle (toothpick would work also)
You can use multiple polish colors like with a water marble. I just used two to keep it simple since this was my first attempt at this style. To create this look:
- Apply a black base color.
- Working one nail at a time, apply a thick coat of black polish, then two lines/blobs of gold polish. Drag a pin, starting in the black, through the gold polish.
- Repeat this process on each nail. It looks best to go at a diagonal angle like on my ring finger. I meant to do that on all my nails, but mistakes happen when you paint your nails at 2am.
Love this idea! It looks so chic and classy. Black and gold is always an amazing color combo.

Thank you! I'm a huge fan of black paired with pretty much any color, but the black and gold combo is one of my favorites.
