Anchor Me

Anchor Nautical Nail Art

I bought these cute anchor charms from +Bundle Monster a while ago, so I thought I'd do a nautical themed nail now that it is summer.  I kept the color scheme blue, white, and yellow, but tried to make each nail different.

Nail Polish
Polish Used:
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Lightening
  • Princessa - blue
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:

I haven't done the plastic bag marbling technique in a while, so I felt like giving it another try.  It really is a great alternative to water marbling, which can be very tricky (I still haven't mastered it).  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - thumb and pinky in yellow, index in blue, middle and ring finger in white.
  2. Use the plastic bag technique to marble the middle finger.  Start by dotting on white, blue, and yellow polish all over the nail.  Then place a clear plastic bag over the nail, and lightly tap to swirl the colors.  You can repeat this process until you achieve your desired marbling effect.

  3. Use a nail art brush to paint two yellow palm trees on the index finger.

  4. Use a wave pattern nail vinyl and blue polish to create "wave-y" lines on the ring finger.

  5. Add a blue round stud to the base of the thumb and pinky nails.

  6. Glue an anchor charm on the ring finger.

Now let's sail away!  No seriously...someone take me to the beach ASAP.
