I've been reading a lot of fairy themed books lately (yes...I read fantasy...law school made me do it), so when I saw these iridescent gemstone studs, I wanted to do something fae related. I've also been wanting to use these fairy stamped designs by +Bundle Monster, so this was the perfect opportunity.
I received the Water Drop Gemstone Studs from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review. The faceted studs come in black or white, and have iridescent flakes inside. I chose white for a softer look, but the black looks dramatic and stunning as well. I like that the iridescentness isn't overpowering and you just get a little glint here and there like a real gemstone. They are quite large, but I'm not one to be deterred from big 3D elements on my nails, so I like it. It makes for a great feature nail on my shorter nails.

I only have the one pictorial photo with this tutorial because I changed my design halfway through. Initially I was going to have a white nail with iridescent glitter, but I didn't like it, so the how-to pics with that nail had to get scraped. But the design is pretty straight forward, so hopefully my directions suffice. To create this look:
- Apply the base colors - pinky in white, the rest in Let Me Go. The Sinful Color polish is an iridescent pink with blue undertones, so it fit with my fairy theme.
- Add a iridescent purple stud to the base of the pinky.
- Use white stamping polish to stamp the dandelions (BM-615) on the middle finger and thumb, and the fairy from the same plate, on the index finger.
- Glue a white gemstone stud on the ring finger.
