Fall Flattery

Fall Nail Art

Happy Turkey Day everyone!  Hope you are all having a nice Thanksgiving.  I'm trying to get the last few fall looks in before I start my holiday nails, so here is a nice fall colored mani perfect for today.

Gold StudsI received these gold studs from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review.  You get 100 pieces which is nice.  The studs are about the standard 2mm size, but what I really like is that they are faceted; it looks more like a shiny gold rhinestone that way.  Another thing I like is that the facet design doesn't get lost if you cover it with top coat.  I debated just gluing on the studs, but decided to just coat them with top coat to can't even tell the difference.

If you haven't checked out all the nail art supplies from Born Pretty Store, you are seriously missing out.  Great prices AND you can get an additional 10% off with coupon code GHLQ10

Nail Polish
Polish Used:
  • Revlon Dark Pleasures - Talk Dirty
  • Maybelline Color Show - Dust of Bronze
  • Cover Girl Outlast Glosstinis - Seared Bronze
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:

In case you didn't know, "flattery" is actually a brown color (I love alliteration and try to use it in my titles as much as possible).  To create this look:

  1. Apply a dark brown base color.

  2. Use Dust of Bronze and Seared Bronze to add some dry brushing to the ring finger.

  3. Add some pieces of gold foil to the ring finger.  This type of foil isn't the type that you transfer, so you just have to stick little pieces on.  Easy peasy.

  4. Apply some loose brown glitter to the tip of the middle finger.  I just added a layer of top coat, and then dabbed on the glitter with my other hand while the polish was tacky.
  5. Add the gold studs!  Add some randomly to the ring finger (kind of an abstract art look), and then add two at the base of the index finger.
