Briar Rose

Rose Nail Art

For some reason, these roses make me think of Sleeping Beauty, so I'm going with it.  At first, I was going to do a white base color with these roses, but I recently won this amazing pink Essie polish from +Salon Supply Store and the pink gives the mani a more romantic vibe.

Rose Stamping PlateI love the look of these roses because it reminds me of a stained glass window.  I received this rose stamping plate from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review. The plate is a standard round plate, with four full nail designs and four individual rose designs.  The stamping plate has a mix of realistic looking roses and more cartoon/illustrated versions.  The images stamp well, and you can create a lot of great floral looks with this plate.

Polish Used:
  • Essie - Just Stiched
  • Bundle Monster Stamping Lacquer - Black Noir
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Rapid Red
  • Wet n Wild - Do Pass Go
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Born Pretty Store stamping plate - BP-73 (roses)
  • Rubber stamper

This design is simple but sweet. To create this look:

  1. Apply a light pink base coat.  Just Stitched by Essie is actually a matte polish, but when a clear coat is applied, you can see this sheen of blue glitter.

  2. Use the reverse stamping method to paint in the roses from BP-73 - stamp with black polish then fill in the roses with red and the leaves with green polish.  Use the full rose background for the ring finger, and the single rose for the middle.  If you have a double sided stamper, you can use the large side for the full-sized image, and the smaller side for the single rose.  Or you can use a stamping mat.
