"This is Halloween, this is Halloween. Pumpkins scream in the dead of night." No Halloween season is complete without some Nightmare Before Christmas nails! I painted these using mostly acrylic paint so I could get a little more detailed with the blending.
I chose the main iconic scene that is at the beginning of the movie, and on the movie poster, with Jack Skellington walking through the spooky terrain. Since Jack is so tiny, I painted a larger portrait of him on my thumb.
There's no real tutorial for this. I just painted a black base coat, then sponged on some dark purple polish for a quick gradient. Then I just went to town (Halloween Town), with the acrylic paint. Start with the moon using yellow and white paint. Then paint the landscape purple, with various light/dark purple for highlights/shadows. Add black for the tombstones and Jack, then add white and light purple highlights. Zero is white with a red nose and collar. Finally, add some jack-o-lanterns to the hilltop.
