Boo-gie Down

Masquerade Nail Art

Boo-gie Down makes me think of a Halloween party, so I went with a masquerade theme for this mani.  I've always wanted to go to a masquerade ball, and every Halloween I debate buying a masquerade mask for my costume.  Maybe one day I'll get that off my bucket list, but for now I'll have to settle for some masquerade nails instead.

Boo-gie Down is from China Glaze's Monsters Ball Collection.  The polish contains black, gold, white, and copper glitter, along with micro and chunky glitter.  Unlike the polishes from my previous posts, this is a clear polish with glitter, so it is more like a top coat.  Get yours from Salon Supply Store before they're all gone!

Nail Polish
Polish Used:
  • China Glaze Monsters Ball - Boo-gie Down
  • Wet n wild - French White Crème
  • Bundle Monster Stamping Lacquer - Black Noir
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate - Time Machine BM-XL133
  • hēhē stamping plate - 026 (Harry Potter Gryffindor)
  • Rubber stamper
  • Masquerade mask charm
  • Studs

This isn't a super Halloween-y nail design, but I really like how perfectly the mask charm worked with the stamping.  To create this look:
  1. Apply a white base color.

  2. Add glitter to all the nails except the middle finger using Boo-gie Down.  Create a gradient on the pinky, a light coating of glitter on the ring finger, and full coverage on the index and thumb.

  3. Use black stamping polish to stamp the checkered design (hēhē 026) on the ring finger, and the girl's face (BM-XL133) on the middle finger.

  4. Glue the masquerade mask charm over the girl's face.
