Dainty Decals

Just a quick decal mani today.  If you love nail art, but lack the painting skills, decals are the way to go.  They are quick and easy to apply, and come in so many fancy designs.

I received these decals from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review.  I don't use decals too often, but I fell in love with these the moment I saw them.  The watercolor designs give them a artsy fashionista vibe.  There are four different sets of decals featuring a mix of trendy girls and abstract designs.  The background is a sheer white, so I used the decals over white polish.  I'm not sure how it would look with a color underneath, but the white looks striking.  The designs are pretty large, so they work well with long nails.  On my short ones, a lot of the design got cut off, but it still looks great.  Since the decals essentially cover your entire nail, I was a little worried about wrinkling, but I didn't have any issues with it.  I just cut the decals close to the length of my nails before application, and they smoothed out nicely.

If you've never used full nail water transfer decals, be sure to make sure they are really dry before you apply top coat or they could still move.  After I placed a decal where I wanted the image, I used a tissue to really press the decal on the nail and absorb any leftover water.  To create this look:

1. Apply a white base color.
   
2. Cut the decals to fit your nails, then working one nail at a time, apply to nails (directions for water transfer on the back of the product).
   
3. Seal on with top coat.
4. If you have stray edges of the decals that go past your nail, use a nail art brush dipped in acetone to melt away the excess.
