Gilded Tranquility

Gilded Tranquility Nails

Sometimes what you have planned for a mani just doesn't turn out. I tried a few different things before I got this end result, so it isn't quite the look I was going for, but it works.

I still have yet to master the art of using vinyl stencils. I don't know how people peel them off without getting the vinyl stuck to itself, curling and getting stuck together, etc. I received these nail vinyl stencils from URSugar Nail in exchange for an honest review. There are a lot of great designs, which is good since I had to peel off quite a few to get this mani to work. Again, not the nail vinyl's fault...just my issue I have with all vinyls. But when I did manage to get a good peel, the vinyls do stick well to the nails. I only had slight leaking where I didn't press the vinyl down hard enough.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Icing - Marine Blue
  • Artistic Nail Design - Resting Beach Face
  • Born Pretty - gold stamping polish
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:

From my obvious peeling fiasco, this wasn't the design I had planned when I started, but it came out okay. To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - pinky in aqua, middle in teal, and the rest in gold.

  2. Use a teardrop patterned nail vinyl stencil on the index and ring fingers. Working one nail at a time, affix the vinyl to the nail. Use teal polish to paint in the base of the nail, then use the aqua polish to paint the bottom half, pulling the polishes together a little. Then peel off the vinyl.

  3. Add gold teardrop studs to the base of the pinky and middle fingers.
