Tequila Sunrise

Tequila Sunrise Nails

These nails are inspired by the drink, Tequila Sunrise. Instead of doing a gradient like the drink, I went with dry brushing.

Nail Polish
I received a few gel polishes from Sensationail in exchange for an honest review. I love their one-step express gel (I reviewed Read Your Profile a couple months ago), so I was excited to try out their other polishes. Mi Amor is a sherbet orange, with a hint of shimmer. These are mini bottles (0.25 fluid oz.), but I like it. Aside from black and white polishes, I've never actually used a whole bottle of polish, so these smaller bottles are perfect and take up less space. The smaller/shorter brush allows for a smoother and more controlled application, which is great with gel since you don't want that all over the place.

The color is not quite the same as what's on the box, but I like it better. It is a peachy-orange, and the shimmer is more like an iridescent than the glittery look on the box.

Polish Used:
  • Sensationail Gel Color - Mi Amor
  • Artistic Nail Design - Off Duty
  • Forever 21 Metallic - Rose Gold
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • LED/UV lamp

This is a slightly different take on the normal abstract dry brush. To create this look:
  1. Apply the base color using Mi Amor.

  2. Use the dry crush technique to add hot pink polish around the perimeter of each nail.

  3. Add a few dry brush spots with a metallic gold polish.
