Cupcakes

Cupcake Nails

I LOVE cupcakes!!!  But really, who doesn't?  Day 22 of the Bundle Monster Challenge is "Icing."  Icing makes me think of cake or cupcakes, but cupcakes are more fun to paint on nails.  There is this cupcakery near my house called Icing on the Cupcake, so I modeled my cupcakes after some of their flavors: Chocolate Mint, Red Velvet, Raspberry Lemonade, and Pinkdelicious.

Like the previous ice cream nails, I used acrylic paint for the cupcakes.

Nail polish

Polish Used:
  • Essence - Sweet as Candy
  • Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish Enamel - Glass Pink
Other Supplies:
  • Acrylic paints
  • Nail or regular paint brush
  • Base and top coats

A cupcake mani is cute for summer or for a party.  To create this look:
  1. Apply a base color.  I'm using Sweet as Candy by Essence, with a coat of Glass Pink by Sinful Colors on top.  It came out a little lighter than I would have liked, but it still worked.
  2. First, paint the cupcake paper using gold acrylic paint (polish would work too).  It should look like a very thin French tip.
  3. Then paint a stripe above that to represent the cupcake cake in whatever color/flavor matches, i.e., dark brown for chocolate, red/brown for red velvet, etc.
  4. Finally, paint the icing in various colors and add details to the icing - shadows, sprinkles, toppings, etc.
