I Donut Care

Donut Nail Art

DONUTS!!!!  I could eat them everyday.  Although then I'd be shaped like one.  So I'll have to settle for donut nails...which still look delicious and make me want to eat donuts.  Ahhh!

Donut CabochonsI received the 3D donut cabochons from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review.  I chose the brown donut with white sprinkles and a pink heart (design #10).  Ten donuts of the same design come in the pack.  I wish the backs were curved instead of flat, but the donut stayed on just fine and I didn't have any issues with it getting caught on anything.  It is very lightweight and I didn't even notice it as much as other charms or cabochons I've worn.  The design is really cute and perfect for any donut lover.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Forever 21 - Apricot
  • Charming Charlie - Mint-4 Each Other
  • Ulta - On Taupe of the World
  • Revlon Dark Pleasures - Talk Dirty
  • Sally Hansen Triple Shine - Pixie Slicks
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
  • Revlon - Whimsical
  • Sprinkle colors - yellow, blue, and dark pink
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate - BM-614 (donuts)
  • Rubber stamper
  • Donut cabochon
  • Dotting tool
  • Nail art brush
  • Krazy Glue

The trickiest part will be the reverse stamping of the donut background.  The details are pretty small, so it can be hard to fill in.  To create this look:
  1. Apply base colors - thumb, middle, and ring in Apricot, and index and pinky in Mint-4 Each Other.

  2. Apply a few coats of Whimsical to the pinky.
  3. Use a nail art brush and On Taupe of the World to paint donuts on the thumb and index finger.

  4. Use Pixie Slicks to ice the donut on the index finger, and White On on the thumb.  Then use a dotting tool to add some sprinkles.

  5. Create a decal using the reverse stamping method to paint in the different donuts on BM-614, then apply to the middle finger.

  6. Glue the donut cabochon onto the ring finger.

Here's a pic where you can see my thumb.  Now eat some donuts! :)

    1. Thanks! The donut is definitely on the larger side, but surprisingly I didn't really notice it when I was wearing it. I've also worn bow charms that extend beyond my nails, so maybe I'm just used to it. It was fun to wear for a day though.
