Leopard Love

Leopard Nail Art

Leopard print may look tricky, but it is one of the easiest animal prints to paint.  The design doesn't have to be perfect, and the more imperfect and messy, the better.  And it looks great in any color!  I chose an apricot and gold look for a fab feminine look.

I received the dangly bow/heart charm from Born Pretty Store in exchange for an honest review.  The gold charm consists of a rhinestone encrusted bow, with a heart that says "Love," that dangles below.  It is a cool twist to the normal charm since it has some motion.  You can place the charm on the base of your nail so it dangles on top of your nail, or you can place it on the tip for a full dangle effect.  I chose to place it at the base of my nail, so there wasn't too much motion, but I liked it and there wasn't anything inhibiting the use of my hands, like there would be if it was hanging off the tip.  The charm is very cute, and "Love" is clearly stamped so it is easy to see what the heart says.  I definitely recommend them, and they'll be perfect for when I start my Valentine's Day nails.

  • Orly - Luxe
  • Wet n Wild - Black Crème
  • Maybelline Color Show Brocades - Gilded Rose

Other Supplies:

This design can definitely be done by nail art beginners.  The spots do not have to be perfect, and that's what makes it so easy.  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base colors - ring finger in Gilded Rose, the rest in Apricot.

  2. Use a nail art brush and Luxe, to paint splotches on the middle finger, pinky, and thumb, where the leopard spots will be.  The middle finger and the pinky will be completely covered with spots, whereas the thumb will only have them on the side.

  3. Use a nail art brush and black polish to add the "C" curve around the gold to complete the leopard spots.  Add little black dots here and there to add to the look.

  4. Add a gold stud to the base of the index finger.

    1. Thank you. It is definitely simple...simple to do, and more on the simplistic side of nail art (kinda).
