Just One Bite

Snow White Nail Art

My first post of 2015 is a Snow White nail, which was Disney's first full-length animated film.  This is the fourth look in my Disney series using the Beautifully Disney polish sets.

Snow White's polish, Looking For My Prince (pictured fourth), is part of the Wickedly Beautiful set by Beautifully Disney.

I debated doing a more happy nail with maybe just a picture of Snow White on it since the polish title is happy.  But I like to pick the most iconic symbols from the movies to portray, and Snow White's is definitely the poisoned apple.  And again, the top of the polish bottle has an apple.  I can't deny my instincts, or that sign, so I went with the poisoned apple look.  The skeleton overlay is actually how the poisoned apple appears in the movie after it is dipped in the cauldron.  I've already done a plain version of the poisoned apple, so I wanted to do something different this time.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Beautifully Disney Wickedly Beautiful - Looking For My Prince
  • Wild and Crazy - Wild Vision
  • Base and top coats
Other Supplies:
  • White acrylic paint
  • Nail art brush
  • Red rhinestones

I used watered down acrylic paint to create the see-through skeleton apple.  You might be able to create the same effect with polish, but I haven't tried.  To create this look:
  1. Apply a red base color using Looking For My Prince.

  2. Paint the poisoned apple on the middle finger.  First, use a nail art brush and Wild Vision to create a background for the apple (i.e., paint an outline of an apple, and then fill in the outside).  Water down some white acrylic paint and paint the skeleton over the apple shape and the string and stem at the top.  Use some thicker white paint to create highlight lines around the apple.  Finally, use Wild Vision to paint some shadows on the edges of the inside of the eye holes and nose.

  3. Cover the ring finger with red rhinestones and seal on with top coat.

Here's to a great 2015.  And don't eat apples from strangers!  That's just bad news.
