Vegas Vacation

Vegas Vacation Nails

Tomorrow I'm off to Vegas for my best friend's bachelorette party!  I rarely get to see my BFF since she lives in Arizona and I live in California, so this is definitely going to be one crazy fun weekend.  To help bring me some luck, I painted Vegas nails!  I saw this mani by +madamluck and fell in love, so I decided to try and re-create it.  My nails are a bit shorter so I didn't have as much nail space for the design, but I still made it work.

I don't have the same bright confetti polish MadamLuck used (I guess I know what I need to buy), so I just used a bunch of different glitter polishes to create a mixed glitter look.

Nail Polish

Polish Used:
  • Ulta - Eye Popping Poppy
  • Piggy Polish - Polar Sea Ice
  • Ulta - Sun-Sational
  • Wet n Wild - On a Trip
  • Piggy Polish - Sub-Lime
  • Wet n Wild - French White Crème
  • Wet n Wild - Black Crème
  • Glitter:
    • Mardi Gras Glitter Nail Deco
    • OPI - Rainbow Connection
    • Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots - Clearly Spotted
    • Maybelline Color Show Street Art - Nighttime Noise
    • Kleancolor Glitter Matte - Tangy Lemon
    • L.A. Girl Glitter Addict - Celebrate
Other Supplies:
  • Nail brushes - striping brush and fine detail brush
  • 3mm round silver metal studs
  • Base and top coats
  • Glow in the Dark top coat

The roulette wheel and cards are very intricate, so this is definitely a more advanced level of nail art.  To create this look:
  1. Apply the base color.  I'm using Eye Popping Poppy by Ulta.  It is a bright creamy red that contrasts nicely with the blue I'm using.

  2. Paint blue chevrons on the middle and ring fingers using chevron nail stickers and Polar Sea Ice by Piggy Polish.
  3. Use white polish and a nail brush to block out the shapes of the roulette wheel, dice, cards, and poker chips.
  4. Use black polish and a nail brush to outline all the shapes, and add any of the black details.
  5. Add all the other colored details - red squares of the roulette wheel, green center of the roulette wheel, yellow and purple poker chip, and the red card details.
  6. Paint the white numbers on the roulette wheel and poker chips.

  7. For the thumb, index, and pinky, add glitter!  I'm using a few different polishes to get the effect.
  8. On those same fingers, add a round silver stud at the base of the nail.

For some added fun, coat the roulette wheel and playing cards with glow in the dark polish.
