Summer needs lots of tropical nails. With warm colors, palm trees, and a touch of gold, this mani makes me want to drink mai tais and go to the beach. #nailart
When you join Julep Maven, you can get the first box free. After taking the style quiz, I got "Bombshell" for my welcome box. My box included 2 Julep polishes, Mighty Nail and Cuticle Serum, and nail buffers. When you check out, you are given the opportunity to add a few extra discounted items to your box, so I couldn't resist adding another polish.
The bright orange and the gold glitter polishes instantly made me think of Miami, and I knew I wanted to do something with palm trees.
Polish Used:
- Julep - Jane
- Julep - Sydney
- Ulta - Oh!
- Gold nail tape
- Nail brush
- Base and top coats
A lighter orange pairs nicely with the bright orange and gold, and softens the look a little. To create this look:
- Apply a base color. I'm using Oh! by Ulta. It is a light, shimmery orange that is almost a peach color.
- Paint palm trees on the ring finger using Sydney and a nail brush. Paint the top of the taller palm tree first, then a curved stripe down to the tip to represent the trunk. Paint a smaller palm tree in the same way.
- Use gold nail tape to create chevrons on the moons of the other nails.
- Using a nail brush, fill in the chevron with the gold glitter polish, Jane.
