Last night I attended a friend's wedding, so I wanted to do something flashy with my nails. I've had these bow nail charms for a while, but I've never gone anywhere fancy enough to wear them. As you can see, they are rather large, so they definitely require a special occasion.
- Miss Kiss - Chrome Crazy
- Wet n Wild - Black Crème
- Wet n Wile - French White Crème
- Black 3D Alloy Rhinestone Nail Art Bow Ties
- Krazy Glue
- Base and top coats
This mani is fairly simple to create since there is minimal painting, and the bows are just glued on. Any nail art beginner can pull off this look. For the painting, you can either use a nail brush or French tip stickers to do the black and silver, or you can do the quick and dirty (literally) way that I describe below. Here's how to create it:
- Apply a white base coat.
- Swipe a curved line of black polish across the middle of the nail. You don't have to paint to the tip since that will be covered with silver. You will likely get polish on your skin, but this can be cleaned with acetone at the end. This method is a lot messier than using a nail art brush, or French tip stickers, but it is faster. And when painting your nails late at night, speed is of the essence.
- Repeat the process with silver, leaving only a thin line of black. Paint in the silver polish all the way to the tips.
- Paint on a couple layers of clear top coat.
- Working on one nail at a time, dab glue in the center of the black line, and place a bow. I used Krazy glue. The bows stayed on the whole night, and just snapped off when I was ready to shower before bed without any damage to my nails.
Note: It is best to wait to glue on the bows until right before you leave you house. You can't touch your hair or anything once they are on because they get caught. You might also want to take glue with you. I had a tube of Krazy glue in my clutch just in case any bows fell off.
