Diet Coke is my go to soda. I probably drink it the most since I always find myself on a diet, but I do love the flavor of it. On these hot summer days, a cool refreshing Diet Coke does wonders. To commemorate my love, I decided to paint Diet Coke nails. #nailart
- Butter London - Diamond Geezer
- Red and black acrylic paint
- Nail brush
- Dotting tool
- Base and top coats
I used acrylic paint for the lettering and details, but you could use regular polish too. I like acrylic paint because it is easier to do lettering with it. It doesn't get quite as tacky when it is drying, so it is a bit easier to control. Also, the paint has better coverage than the red polishes I have, so one pass with the paint was enough. To create this look:
- Apply a base color. I'm using Diamond Geezer by Butter London. The Diet Coke can is sliver, so this is a great background color.
- Paint the "Diet Coke" lettering. Using a small nail brush, paint "Coke" in red. Paint it big enough that it covers the length of your nail. It should be a little off center because "Diet" is going to go above it, so be sure to leave space. Then paint "Diet" with black paint. You can look at a Diet Coke can for a reference on how the logo looks.
- Decorate the rest of the nails using red paint and a nail brush or dotting tool. On one nail, I did the red swirl design you see on the can. The rest I just made different patterns of dots and lines.
My wife should get this design, but with Diet Dr. Pepper
