Morocco

Moroccan Nails

Round 2 of Nail It! Magazine's #tinicontest is inspired by Moroccan Architecture and Lauren Clay Artwork.  For my first entry, I chose a bunch of Bundle Monster stamping plates with designs close to that of Moroccan architecture.

Nail It TinicontestI kept the color scheme blue and white.  The dark blue was a little darker than I would have liked, and the light blue didn't show up as well in the stamping.  Overall, I like the design, but the colors didn't turn out as I would have liked.  It would have looked better with brighter colors, so this is more of a muted Moroccan style.

For my next entry I'm going to try to emulate some Lauren Clay artwork with acrylic paint.  So stay tuned!

Nail Polish
Polish Used:
  • Julep - Lacey
  • Ulta - Faded Blues
  • Bundle Monster - Angelic White
Other Supplies:
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-H03
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-203
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-410
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-404
  • Stamper
  • Dotting tool
  • Base and top coats

This design uses basic stamping and some reverse stamping.  Here's how to create the look:
  1. Apply the base colors.  Ring finger should be in white, and all others in dark blue.
  2. Stamp the index finger with BM-H03 using white stamping polish.
  3. Reverse stamp the middle finger to create a decal.  Stamp BM-203 in light blue, and fill in the center of each square using white polish and a dotting tool.  See the link above if you need help with this.
  4. Stamp the ring finger with BM-410 using dark blue polish.
  5. Reverse stamp the pinky the same as the middle finger.  Stamp BM-404 with light blue polish, and fill in the design with white polish.

Remember to not brush the top coat too much over the stamping so the design doesn't get pulled.
