Snow White

Snow White

Poisoned apple anyone?  Snow White is another polish in the Disney Fairytale Polish Set.  With a bright red polish, I had to do the infamous poisoned apple.

For the other featured nail, I wanted to try out a new technique.  I created my own vinyl/stencil by cutting some scotch tape with a pair of patterned scrapbook scissors.  I chose one that kind of looked like lace to match Snow White.

Nail Polish
Polish Used:
  • Disney Fairytale - Snow White
  • Wet n Wild - Black Crème
  • Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Scarlet
  • Sinful Colors - Rich in Heart
  • Brown, green, and white for apple details.
Other Supplies:
  • Nail art brush
  • Gold nail tape
  • Scotch tape
  • Patterned scrapbook scissors
  • Base and top coats

Even though the polish is called Snow White, the mani actually looks more like the Evil Queen...but she still comes from the movie/story Snow White, so I guess that works.  Here's how to create the look:
  1. Apply a red base color to all the nails except the index, which should be black.  The polish is pretty thin, so it will take a few coats.
  2. For the middle finger, cut a piece of scotch tape with a pair of patterned scrapbooking scissors.  I used a design that looked like lace to match Snow White.  Apply the tape to the nail and then paint with black polish and remove the tape.  One dry, add a strip of gold nail tape on the black side of the nail.
  3. Paint the poisoned apple on the index finger.
    • First, use white polish to paint the shape of the apple.  You don't need a nail brush, just make two humps for the top of the apple with the regular nail polish brush, and then fill in the tip.  This red polish is thin, so this will help it show up better over the black.
    • Go over the apple shape with the red polish.  It may take 2-3 coats.
    • Add some red holo glitter to the apple with Chucky Holo Scarlet.
    • Use a darker read like Rich in Heart, to add some shading to the outer edges of the apple.
    • Finally, using a nail art brush, paint a stem with some brown polish, a leaf with green polish, and a white highlight mark on the apple.
