"Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah-ah! Rama-ramama-ah. GaGa-ooh-la-la! Want your bad romance!" :) When thinking of my post title, Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" is what popped into my head first with the +Bundle Monster love themed stamping, and the muddled dark red background.
To create the background colors, I used +Elle WithL's #smooshattack technique. I'll describe it more below, but she has a great video on her Instagram.
- Sinful Colors - Rich in Heart
- Sinful Colors - Ruby Ruby
- Wild and Crazy - Wild Vision
- Chine Glaze - Cherry Crystal
- Bundle Monster - Liquid Gold
- Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-H16 (roses)
- Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-H17 (kisses)
- Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-H18 (mixed hearts and hearts in circles)
- 2 Rubber stampers
- Base and top coats
This was my first attempt at Elle's #smooshattack technique, so mine was a bit messy as you can see. Hopefully I'll get better and cleaner with practice. Originally, I was going to do some double stamping too, but the red I was going to stamp with wasn't opaque enough to stand out over the dark background. To create this look:
- Apply two colors to a rubber stamper. I started with Rich in Heart and Ruby Ruby.
- Use a second stamper to smoosh the colors around. Smoosh a lot for a more blended/smooth watercolor look, or smooth less for more definitive edges between the colors.
- Stamp this on your nails.
- Repeat the process with Wild Vision and Cherry Crystal.
- Repeat with Rich in Heart and Ruby Ruby again to add a few more darker tones on top.
- (optional) If the paint is a bit uneven, paint a coat of clear to coat before stamping.
- Using Liquid Gold, stamp BM-H18 (mixed hearts) on index, BM-H16 (roses) on middle, BM-H17 (kisses) on ring, and BM-18 (hearts in circles) on pinky. I left my thumb plain, but you can do any love themed stamp.
Add some top coat, clean up any messiness, and you're done!
