This is a recreation of a design by +Liz P, that I saw on Instagram. The mint green polish paired with the black cat and pastel confetti makes a sweet look. I improvised on the thumb since that was not pictured in the design I saw online.
Today's nail art is a dedication to my Grandma. She loved cats, so it is only fitting that I have cat nail art when I say good-bye to her today. She certainly was the cat's meow :)
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mint Sorbet
- Wet n Wild - Black Crème
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Lacey Lilac
- Revlon - Bubbly
- Miss Kiss - Chrome Crazy
- Nail art brush
- I Heart Nail Art Pen - Fine Black
- Base and top coats
With the use of the nail art pen, this design gets a lot easier for all the outlining. I actually managed to do this with my left hand (I'm right handed), since triangles are fairly easy to draw, even with your non-dominant hand. To create this look:
- Apply a light green base color using Mint Sorbet.
- Using a nail art brush and black polish, paint the cat on the middle finger. Start with a half circle on the tip, and then add two triangles for ears.
- Paint various triangles in pink, purple, and silver on the index, ring, and pinky.
- Paint a heart above the cat head with pink polish.
- Use purple polish to paint two triangles for the inside on the cat's ears.
- Using the fine black nail art pen, outline all the triangles and the heart.
- On the thumb, use the nail art pen to write "MEOW," but make the "O" a paw print instead.
