Right now I'm obsessed with the song, "Streets of Gold," by +Max Schneider, so I decided to dedicate today's mani to the song. In the music video, there are a lot of walls with graffiti and of course, streets of gold, while everything else is in black and white. So, I did a gold mani with some brick stamping to look like the brick walls, with the song title in graffiti (my graffiti lettering is not that great...I guess I won't be tagging in the future).
In case you haven't heard of this song, here is the video. Enjoy! If anyone watched that show "Crisis," the guy singing was Ian.
Polish Used:
- Bundle Monster - Liquid Gold
- Wet n Wild - Black Crème
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Wet Cement
- Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-422 (bricks)
- Rubber stamper
- Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen - Fine Black
- 2mm round gold studs
- 3mm round gold studs
- Nail art brush
- Base and top coats
Obviously, you can write whatever graffiti words or pictures you would like. The gold walls is a nice contrast for any black and grey graffiti. To create this look:
- Apply a gold base color to all the nails.
- Use black polish and BM-422 to stamp the brick pattern on each nail. It stamped a little imperfect, but I think that adds to the character of the graffiti wall.
- Using the nail art pen, write graffiti on the nails. Here, "streets of gold" expands across the index through ring finger with each word on its own nail.
- Use a nail art brush and the grey polish to fill in the graffiti so the black becomes an outline to the words.
- Add one 2mm and one 3mm gold round stud to each nail that has graffiti on it, and add one 3mm and two 2mm gold round studs to the pinky and thumb.
- Seal the studs on with a couple coats of clear top coat.
